Yoga Nidra in Vancouver
Yoga Nidra is a guided practice of deep rest and awareness.
It is often called “yogic sleep” or “aware sleep”.
Yoga Nidra can be practised lying down or seated.
No yoga or meditation experience is needed. No flexibility is needed.
Just get comfortable, listen and follow the guidance as much as feels right.
The modern Yoga Nidra method was developed and popularised by Swami Satyananda Saraswati, founder of the Bihar School of Yoga in 1963.

Feeling burnt out, overstimulated or deprived of deep rest?
Screens, doom scrolling and constant input can make it hard to switch off.
A Yoga Nidra practice offers a guided pause.
It gives you time to notice how you feel, settle into stillness and practise rest.
Sriranjini Raman, also known as Ranju, is an experienced Yoga teacher bringing lineage-rooted practices to individuals, teams and communities for nervous system regulation.

The practice can support nervous system regulation and help build awareness of what deep rest feels like.
Settle. Notice. Restore.
Settle: Get comfortable and arrive in the moment.
Notice: Follow the guidance and observe what is happening.
Restore: Rest, then return gently to the room.
Regulation Ritual - Nervous System Reset
Rest makes success sustainable.
Success and wellbeing can coexist.
The problem is not ambition. It is the absence of recovery.
Regulation Ritual is a 45 to 60 minute Yoga Nidra workshop for workplaces, institutions and communities. Participants are guided to settle, notice and rest.
No yoga experience is needed.
This guided nervous system reset makes space for deep rest within busy work and community settings.
It helps participants practise slowing down, listening inward and returning to the day with greater steadiness.
The goal: 100 people experiencing Yoga Nidra by February 2027.

About Sriranjini
A different relationship with ambition, wellbeing and recovery.
After a successful career in the climate sector, Sriranjini experienced a major health crisis at 23. She was told by professionals that she will need medication indefinitely. The experience changed her relationship with ambition, wellbeing and recovery.
In 2023, a Vipassana retreat with Yuttadhammo Bhikkhu became a turning point. It led her to study yoga in India with the AryaMarga Yoga Institute and to the teachers and traditions that continue to shape her work.
Yoga and meditation became part of her journey in healing from chronic pain, inflammation, anxiety, depression and IBS symptoms. Through these practices, she found more health, happiness, rest, calm and presence.
That experience shaped her sense of purpose. Sriranjini believes the health and happiness she has found through these practices are worth sharing. She now wants to help others make space for balance, recovery and a deeper connection with themselves. She has taught yoga for two years in British Columbia, including at Salt Spring Centre of Yoga. She has completed more than 1,200 hours of yoga training in India and participated in or supported more than 15 retreats.
